5 books that I have read that will kickstart your self-improvement journey

In this post I will discuss the best self-improvement books that will start you on your journey!

These books will not hold all of the answers, as all of us blokes are continuously learning. However, they will provide you with a good grounding and foundation, for you to start your journey.

Book 1-The Laws of Human Nature(Robert Greene)

This book, in my opinion is a fascinating start to your self-development and ability to understand the human world more deeply. Unlike his more controversial book, the Law of Powers, my opinion is that this book has much more practicality to the lives of everyday blokes. This books will allow you to understand what makes people the way they are, and ultimately, it has made me a much more patient person due to my ability to understand why people are the way they are. It has also allowed me to quickly identify people who may not be the best people to be associated with, or simply that these people are using you for their own gain.

Either way, this book is a great start to your understanding of why people are they way they are, and how we all fit together, and even why we act the way we do ourselves.

Book 2-The Psychology of Money(Morgan Housel)

This book was fascinating to me because it sets out a number of rules that we can all follow that will enable us to achieve our financial goals much quicker than we can imagine. Certain habits and spending patterns that we do not realise are identified in this book, and in addition, the book highlights the wonders of compound interest. it provides an example of how a man born with nothing, through compound interest, was able to accumulate 8 million dollars worth of wealth in the mid 1900's. A fantastic read for your financial literacy.

"Spending money to show people how much money you have is the fastest way to have less money''-Morgan Housel

Book 3-Seneca Letters from A Stoic(Seneca)

This book is more based around philosophy than anything. It collects together a number of letters written by Seneca, which are placed together in this book. The letters talk about a varying matter of topics, but essentially the aim of the letters is to help men establish what their purpose is in life, and what the most effective ways men can tackle their problems in life. Overall, this book is a deep read, so you will need plenty fo time to digest the book, and take breaks between each letter within the book.

Book 4-Atomic Habits(James Clear)

One of the most influential books I have read, this book is excellent at providing practical tips for getting rid of bad habits, or maintaining good habits. it provides, simple yet clear tips, and overall, I feel as though this book is a great starting point for people looking to change their habits and turning their life around.

Book 5-Public Speaking-(Kristen Rae Evans)

This book, brings together 91 tips and tricks on how to increase your confidence when public speaking or debating. These tips in my opinion do not just have to be translated to public speaking or debating, but can be sued for all matters of areas in life, and as such I would highly recommend this book as the tips are extremely useful.

Final Thoughts

I think, that any of these books will enable you to start your journey as a bloke, and becoming the best version of yourself. However, your journey will take time, and ultimately, the progress you make depends on you.
