This newsletter will provide you with a fool proof way of getting fitter, and into better shape. Simple.

Some people may say that getting into shape is difficult. They are right in some aspects, as getting into shape, and maintaining that shape requires a large amount of dedication and discipline. However, with these simple tips that I shall provide you, I shall endeavour to help you start your fitness journey and get into the best shape possible.

Step 1-Why should I start?

My first scenario, that I put to you is this. Imagine you are on your deathbed, and you think back to your younger years now. You've never taken action to get in better shape, and it may have even allowed you to live a better quality of life. The bill of regret, is far greater than the bill of pain and suffering that you will have to pay now, to get into shape.

I won't mince my words, if you have never been in shape, this transformation will be tough, and it will be long. However, the benefits of this will completely transform your life. Whether its confidence in dating, confidence at work, or just the ability to perform tasks that you never could, the fact you have gotten into shape will provide you with new experiences that you would never have been able to experience.

Step 2-Baby steps

All of these fitness gurus make getting fit sound extremely complicated. It isn't! You simply need to burn more calories than you consume and you will lose weight. Or, if you are trying to put on muscle, you need to consume around 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight a day, and be in a calorie surplus. It is that simple.

The baby steps are essentially where you ensure that you are showing up to do the exercise. If you are not used to doing any exercise, then start with once a week, or a couple of times a week. In addition, the workout doesn't even have to be that intense. You just need to get used to working out, and slowly but surely your ability to exercise will increase.

Don't put unrealistic pressure on yourself to hit these influencers workouts where they are training 6 times a week, and doing hours of workouts a day. It's unrealistic. At the start of this journey you want to be getting used to working out, and being comfortable in that environment.

Step 3-Routine

Once you have established the baby steps, you need to establish a routine. So lets say you want to go three times a week to the gym. You make sure you go on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. These are non negotiables, and in addition to this you make sure that you adapting new habits such as calorie counting or even just tracking what you are eating.

This is the step where things start to get serious and you have to start the discipline that is necessary. This should come easier than you think at this point, as you should have seen some small improvements in your exercise which you should use to drive you forwards.

Again, you do not need to be hitting the influencer workouts yet, you just need to ensure that you are now consistently going to the gym and going for similar times each gym session. These don't have to be an hour, these could be half an hour sessions, the most important thing here is that you are getting used to a routine, that you can slowly crank up the intensity and volume of up.

Step 4-Nutrition

Now that you have a solid routine and you have adapted the necessary habits such as calorie counting or tracking what you eat, nutrition can now come into play.

No one can outwork a bad diet. At this stage you are probably seeing results but not the results you wanted. This is all because your nutrition and diet are not up to scratch. Think of yourself as a sports car. If you are not giving the correct fuel to the car, the car will not go anywhere, and it will not perform the way you want. Think of your body this way.

You are going to want to ensure that your nutritional requirements are being met, so whether that means you want to lose weight, or whether you want to put muscle on, you need to ensure that these are being hit.

Step 5-Discipline

At this stage, you have adapted all of the necessary requirements needed to reach your fitness goals.

The key think you have to ensure, is discipline. A good way to track your progress is monthly photos, to compare how you look to the previous month.

Do not get disheartened if your results do not come as quickly as you want. A good tip that I like to use, is reviewing your monthly photo updates as this will highlight the differences, compared to what you are seeing day to day.

There will still be days when you do not want to go to gym, or you do not want to eat healthily. The difference between those who achieve their goals, and those who do not, are those who are disciplined, and stick to their plans that they know will work. You have to become obsessed with the process of becoming better, and be disciplined enough to see the end goal as enough of a reward for you to keep doing the right things.

Summary

These short tips, will put you on the path to achieving your fitness goals. The journey will not be easy, and it will not be quick. However, the key is being disciplined and trusting the process.

I wish you all the best with your fitness goals, and I know you can do it!
